Anisoptera

Anisoptera

As you might have already guessed, this is the typical dragonfly. Those fellas were more than nice to us while we walked through the floating bridge. First of all, they posed for me, and since my 24-70 is not exactly a real macro (0.34x), I was surprised for their still posing while I approached the mammoth-sized (compared to the dragonfly itself) lens barrel, literally sticking it to the little guys eyes. There was also the constant flying off and zapping a mosquito (which were in more than abundance in this park, which added to our great pleasure of forgetting to bring anti-mosquito cream). Since then I think I have really learned to appreciate this particular anisoptera representative.

  • I love the colors and the texture of the wood in this picture. The DOF is perfect. A really stunning picture.
[A technical note to your comment box: It seems that you capture key-events (left, right and maybe more) to allow moving to another picture, which I like. But the feature also seems to be enabled in you comment box, which makes editing a comment not exactly easy. Using Firefox 1.5x]
